PUTRAJAYA: A village in Baling, Kedah, will be placed under a conditional movement control order starting Sunday (October 18) after 25 of its residents tested positive for Covid-19.
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said 1,150 residents of Kampung Padang Che Mas will participate in the order that runs until October 31.
He said the National Security Council was briefed by the Kedah state government about the situation in the village where, to date, 236 people have been examined and ordered to be quarantined.
“With compliance with the conditional MCO, the residents of Kampung Padang Che Mas will not be allowed to leave their homes and there will be no movement in and out of the area,” he said on Friday (October 16).
Ismail Sabri also listed other standard operating procedures that residents must follow, including allowing just two per household to go out to find food and other essentials.
Grocery and convenience stores can stay open until 6:00 p.m. M., While the food stalls and the restaurant’s hours of operation are until 8:00 p.m. M.
Not all activities and gatherings will be allowed, and schools will remain closed until the order is lifted.
