Emergency: health care volunteers needed to fight third wave

PÉTALO: The Ministry of Health is seeking medical and health personnel to sign up as volunteers to help in its battle against a possible third wave of Covid-19 infections.

Health Director General Tan Sri Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah said the ministry was looking to fill the position of physicians, scientific microbiology officers, nurses, assistant medical officers and medical laboratory technicians, among others.

Volunteers are needed to carry out temperature and symptom checks in health centers, trace contacts and take samples in Covid-19 centers and to care for patients in hospitals, he posted on Facebook on Thursday (October 15).

These people must be certified professionals, physically and mentally healthy, willing to be deployed in certain locations and not have a history of close contact with Covid-19 cases during the last 14 days.
