Conditional OLS for KL, S’gor, Putrajaya and Sabah
Citi: It is time for the rakyat to cheer up and cooperate. The movement control order (MCO) will not be effective if the rakyat are not playing their role.
There should also be a mechanism where the rakyat can contribute to the enforcement of the OLS. There are many stubborn traders in the markets and food outlets who do not wear masks.
GMan: What is the justification for the conditional OLS for Kuala Lumpur, Selangor and Putrajaya, and not Kedah?
It seems that the government of Perikatan Nasional (PN) is imposing the conditional OLS, not so much for the coronavirus but for political reasons, perhaps for its own political survival?
The World Health Organization does not advocate blockades as primary media to control the virus. So it seems that the PN government is imposing the conditional OLS for its own hidden agenda.
Sentinel: Yes, why not Kedah?
Infections can be controlled with a more specific application. Many restrictions already existed, but there was no compliance because strict enforcement was not done.
The government cannot enforce compliance on the political elite, so it punishes the rakyat.
Anonymous273646429: Kedah is probably not on the list because most of the cases involved people in Alor Setar Prison, which is already in isolation.
Centennial Egg: Indeed, the current government is to be blamed for all this mess, for taking over a legitimate government at the federal and state level in Sabah in the midst of a pandemic.

The government limits wedding guests under conditional MCO to 250
Bobby O: Rotan must not skimp on the leader responsible for this new Covid-19 wave. This new wave has caused tremendous hardship for all Malaysians. We are all affected in one way or another.
When most of the situation was returning to normal, people were beginning to rebuild what they had lost and then again forced into uncertainty.
Schools are closing, businesses are closing again, incomes have become uncertain, health needs to be protected, and all restrictions introduced.
What do these politicians have to lose? They are secured in their positions. Enjoying their positions and advantages. Their income is not reduced but may even increase due to the positions they hold.
The sad reality is that ordinary people are “spanked” on a daily basis. They are arrested daily, summoned daily and threatened daily for not following standard operating procedure (SOP), while the ‘anak-anak’ (sons) of the ‘Abah’ (father) are given special privileges.
Cyclone: It is good that the government listens to the comments of the people and acts accordingly. But why didn’t you consult with them before deciding on the rules?
First, it was a limit of 500 at weddings, then after some medical experts highlighted issues about social distancing at such events (duh), the rule was adjusted to 250.
I imagine the confusion it caused and even more, how can this be enforced (one meter social distancing, masks, temperature taking, log taking to track)? I attended an event three months ago and there were none of the above except for the online motion recording.
Actually, why even have such events? Just do the solemnization (for Muslim weddings) and limit it to 25 people. Have the full-blown celebration some other day when we’re done with Covid-19. Save money and potentially some lives too.
Smart voter: Many sacrifices have been made, but we have conflicting policies. Social distancing will be difficult and given the happy occasion at weddings, it is difficult to enforce a strict SOP.
Many will never learn despite lessons highlighted elsewhere. In a health crisis like this, it is discipline and order that must be in place to protect public safety.
I am Sabahan: Is it possible to self-regulate if the proponent himself breaks a rule?
Is it correct that those who are supposed to be the authority / those in the know who should have set an example for the rakyat are 100 times more broken if they break the rule?
Lead by example?
Shovel nose: The PN government faces the worst possible scenario.
It has no backbone to make the tough decisions necessary for health consideration because the razor’s edge majority in Parliament that it supposedly has will fall if any of the MPs disagrees, refuses to comply, or simply ignores the SOP for physical distancing.
The government is obliged to rescue parliamentarians from its side to keep them in line or fall.
Nasi Lemak: Our Defense Minister was the one who announced that people from home quarantine will be released if their results of their RT-PCR test at airports are negative. Isn’t one disaster enough?
Sinecure: It is a tragicomedy. The tragedy is that we have leaders like these.
