PETALING JAYA: Six new conglomerates have been detected in the country, including the Tropicana conglomerate in Selangor, says Health Director General Tan Sri Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah.

Dr Noor Hisham said that the six new groups were discovered in Kuala Lumpur (two groups), with one in Sabah, Selangor, Johor and Putrajaya.

He said the Tropicana group was detected in Petaling, Selangor, involving an index case that tested positive for the virus during a screening test in a high-risk area (Sabah) on October 2.

“The index case has been admitted to the Sungai Buloh hospital. At noon on October 12, a total of 147 people were tested in which 14 tested positive, 105 tested negative, while another 28 were still awaiting their results,” he said. . at the ministry’s Facebook live press conference on Monday (Oct 12).

Previously, Petaling Jaya OCPD communication assistant Nik Ezanee Mohd Faisal announced that 23 local and foreign employees of the Tropicana Golf and Country Resort have tested positive for Covid-19.

Dr. Noor Hisham said that the Bah Kasturi group was detected in Seremban, Negri Sembilan, Cheras and Putrajaya districts, as well as Klang, Petaling, Hulu Langat, Gombak and Kuala Langat districts in Selangor.

“The index case in this group was identified from a high-risk (Sabah) screening for Covid-19 on September 13 and has been admitted to Tuanku Jaafar Hospital in Negri Sembilan.

“A total of 305 people have been examined in which 18 tested positive, 277 tested negative while another 10 are still awaiting their results,” he said.

Meanwhile, in the new group detected in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur dubbed the Bah Perdana group, Dr. Noor Hisham said that the index case was identified in a high-risk area (Sabah) on September 28, adding that the patient he has been admitted to Sungai Buloh Hospital.

Of this group, Dr. Noor Hisham said 22 people have been tested, nine of whom tested positive and 13 are still awaiting their results.

Under the Baiduri group, it was detected in Hulu Langat, Selangor and in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur, where the index case was found to be positive for Covid-19 after a preoperative screening test on October 7.

“A total of 39 people have been examined in which 18 tested positive, 12 tested negative while another nine are still awaiting their results,” he said.

In Sabah, Dr. Noor Hisham said that the Kolong cluster was detected in Keningau.

He said the index case in this group was identified during a community assessment on October 7 and that the patient has been admitted to Lahad Datu hospital.

Dr Noor Hisham said 92 people have been tested where eight tested positive, 81 tested negative while three others are still awaiting their results.

In Rinting’s group, Dr. Noor Hisham said it was detected in Central Melaka and Johor Baru.

“The index case in this group was identified during a workplace evaluation on October 7 and the patient was admitted to Melaka Hospital,” he said, adding that eight people tested positive, 97 tested negative, while others 57 still await their results. .
