Malaysian woman among seven imported cases in Singapore

SINGAPORE: Singapore’s Ministry of Health confirmed that one of seven imported Covid-19 cases announced on Sunday is a 23-year-old Malaysian woman.

She is a work permit holder currently working in Singapore and was placed on the Home Stay Notice (SHN) upon arrival, she said in her full details released Sunday evening.

Singapore reported 10 new cases yesterday that included three locally transmitted Covid-19 infections, bringing the total count to 57,876.

The ministry said that all the new cases were asymptomatic and were detected based on their proactive detection and surveillance.

Singapore has so far classified 1,132 of the reported cases as imported, 2,260 as community cases and 54,484 involving dormitory residents.

As for Sunday, two clusters, at Kranji Lodge I and the Westlite Woodlands dormitory, were closed as there were no further cases during the last two 28-day incubation periods.

In all, 57,705 have fully recovered from the infection and have been discharged from hospitals or community care facilities.

There are currently 44 confirmed cases still in the hospital with a critically ill patient in the intensive care unit.

Meanwhile, 100 patients who have mild symptoms or are clinically well, but still tested positive for Covid-19, have been isolated and cared for in community facilities.

To date, 27 people have died from complications from Covid-19 in the republic and the first two deaths were reported on March 21.Called
