Sanitation and disinfection work at Gardens Mall, Mid Valley after a worker at a skincare establishment tests positive for Covid-19

PETALING JAYA: A worker at a skin care store in one of the largest shopping malls in the Klang Valley tested positive for Covid-19.

The management of Gardens Mall (TGM) and Mid Valley Megamall (MVM) said the employee works at London Sales Cosmetics Sdn Bhd (LSC), the company that operates Origani and Élévatione Time Stops at TGM and Surreal de Élévatione Time Stops at MVM.

“The employee informed her management at LSC on October 9 that one of her family members was exposed to the virus.

“She immediately isolated herself through self-quarantine and arrangements were made for her to undergo the Covid-19 test, which was confirmed positive on October 10.

“She did not show any symptoms of Covid-19,” he said in a Facebook post on Sunday night (October 11).

TGM and MVM management said they were informed of the positive test result on Sunday (October 11).

After confirming the case, he informed the Ministry of Health and the search for contacts began.

He said the sanitation and disinfection of the three outlets under LSC, as well as all common areas in the two full shopping centers, are ongoing.

All three outlets were immediately closed and will remain so until further notice.

“We would like to assure TGM and MVM customers, tenants and visitors that their health and safety are of the utmost importance.

“We have implemented precautionary measures to maintain high levels of cleanliness and hygiene as recommended by the government in both shopping centers to ensure everyone’s health and safety.

“We will continue to monitor the situation closely together with the authorities and provide updates as necessary,” he said.

He also urged all people to practice the safe health measures outlined by the Ministry of Health, which include wearing a mask at all times, washing hands thoroughly with soap, and practicing physical distancing.
