Man arrested, seizure of drugs worth more than 44,000 ringgit

DUNGUN: Police arrested a man and seized drugs worth more than RM44,000 in a raid on Felda Kerteh 5 here on Thursday.

Dungun District Police Chief Supt Baharudin Abdullah said that in the 4.30pm raid, the 29-year-old suspect was detained in a room in his family’s home.

“The police found and confiscated 50 bottles with yellow caps suspected of being heroin and 1,600 pills believed to be yaba pills.

“All of these drugs are believed to be for sale at Dungun. Heroin sells for RM 700 per bottle and yaba pills cost RM 10 per pill, ”he told a news conference at the Dungun district police headquarters today.

The suspect tested positive for methamphetamine and had a drug-related history, he said, adding that the suspect had been in pretrial detention for seven days through Oct. 15 and the case was being investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act. 1952.

In another incident, four men between the ages of 18 and 29 were arrested for possessing a fake pistol in front of a resort in Teluk Lipat Beach, Dungun, around 9 a.m. Friday, after the public filed a complaint for misbehaving suspicious. .

Upon checking, the police found 128 yaba tablets and 12 erimin 5 tablets, belonging to one of the suspects. Three of the suspects tested positive for drugs.

All of the suspects were detained for four days beginning October 9, and the case is being investigated under Section 36 (1) of the Weapons Act of 1960 and Section 39A (1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act of 1952. –Called
