PETALING JAYA: The MCA political bureau, chaired by President Datuk Seri Dr. Wee Ka Siong, has reached a resolution not to join or participate in any plan by Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to form a new federal government and reiterated the position of the party to fully support Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin to continue leading the nation.

“Political stability is a prerequisite to catalyze economic growth and attract more foreign investment to Malaysia.

Therefore, it is prudent for all political parties to focus their efforts on our economic recovery and cease all political maneuvering at the expense of the rakyat.

“In addition, political leaders and parties must also obey the decree issued by Yang di-Pertuan Agong in May this year (2020) for all elected representatives to refrain from dragging the nation into greater political uncertainty,” said the MCA Secretary General Datuk Shong Sin Woon said in a statement on Sunday (October 11).

Last week, Anwar had said that Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah had granted him a hearing on October 13.

Anwar dropped a bomb on September 23, days before the state elections in Sabah on September 26, where he claimed to have a “strong, formidable and convincing” majority to form the next government.
