Covid-19: Improved MCO for Tropicana Resort Worker Shelter from 12:01 am on Monday (October 12)

PETALING JAYA: An Enhanced Motion Control Order (MCO) will be enforced at the Worker Shelter at Tropicana Golf and Country Resort for two weeks beginning at midnight Sunday, beginning at 12:01 am Monday (October 12) , to contain Covid. -19 transmission.

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said on Saturday (October 10) that the closure order would not cover the clubhouse or residential units.

“Only the workers’ shelter will be under the improved MCO from October 12 to 25,” the defense minister said at a press conference via Facebook Live on Saturday.

He said those affected by the lockdown order would not be allowed to go outside.

“The authorities, including the state ones, will see to it that food is sent to them,” he said.

Meanwhile, the 1Utama shopping complex in Bandar Utama was ordered to close for seven days starting October 12 for sanitation and decontamination works.

He said health authorities had started contact tracing, as some workers at the complex had tested positive for Covid-19.

Detection and contact tracing activities were underway, he said, adding that around 800 workers were employed there.

He said people had two more days to travel in and out of Sabah before the state borders were closed on October 12.

“Movement to Sabah from Sarawak, Labuan and the peninsula, and vice versa, will be prohibited.

“We will only allow movement for official government business and emergency cases, including the transport of the dead,” he said.

The air force will conduct daily flights to Sabah to transfer medical personnel and transport samples to the Peninsula for testing in view of limited capacity in Sabah.

As the Tawau Hospital is dedicated to Covid-19 cases, the Armed Forces field hospital in Sabah will be used to treat other cases.

Ismail said that sports activities were not allowed in red zones, that is, those under the order of controlled movement control (MCO) and enhanced MCO.
