SEREMBAN: Nando’s Palm Mall store here will be temporarily closed after a part-time employee tested positive for Covid-19.

The restaurant chain, in a Facebook post, said the establishment will remain closed for disinfection and cleaning work until further notice from the Ministry of Health.

“At Nando’s, the health and well-being of our people and the community is our top priority.

“A part-time crew member, who is a student at a local university, was asked to self-quarantine upon learning of the cases there, found to be positive today,” he said on Friday (Oct 9). .

The company said the part-time worker has not been to the restaurant since he marked his departure on October 5 and has since been taken to Rembau Hospital for quarantine and treatment.

“Upon receiving notice from the ministry, we immediately closed the restaurant for a thorough cleaning and disinfection, while all crew members on duty were asked to self-quarantine and be sent the Covid-19 test, according to the ministry’s guidelines, “he said.

He said other members of the store staff, who came into contact with the part-time worker, received paid stay-at-home orders for 14 days while they awaited test results.
