KLANG: The Selangor government will work hand in hand with the federal government on matters related to the conditional motion control order (MCO) imposed in Klang starting today.
Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said the state government had relayed its findings and comments to the federal government yesterday.
“After getting feedback from various agencies during the Klang district conditional MCO coordination meeting, the state government has relayed this, as well as suggestions, to the special virtual meeting of the National Security Council (NSC) with the Prime Minister yesterday, “he said in a statement here yesterday.
The coordination meeting was chaired by Secretary of State Datuk Mohd Amin Ahmad Ahya.
The NSC, Amirudin said, would announce the details of the conditional MCO to maintain coordination and consistency.
“The state government will cooperate with all agencies to ensure that the welfare of the people is taken care of,” he said, adding that Selangor should continue to test for Covid-19 in red zones as a preventive measure.
Meanwhile, former Selangor senior Datuk Teng Chang Khim has accused the federal government of announcing the conditional MCO without consulting the state government or summarizing important information, such as affected areas.
He claimed that the Selangor government had acted swiftly following the announcement of the conditional MCO by calling a state-level meeting to work out the details, but this was interrupted by the Prime Minister’s call about the NSC meeting.
