KUALA LUMPUR: The government issued a travel ban from Sabah to Peninsular Malaysia, Sarawak and Labuan from October 12 to October 25 following the spike in Covid-19 cases, Chief Minister (Security) Datuk Seri Ismail said Sabri Yaakob.

“However, special exemptions will be granted to certain cases of emergency, death, essential services and others that will require permission from the Ministry of Health (MINSA).

“Those who have received the permit must undergo a Covid-19 examination by the Ministry of Health upon arriving at the entry points of their destinations,” he said yesterday in a statement on the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO ).

Regarding entry to Sabah, he said that permission would be granted to several categories, namely Sabahans who have the H code in their MyKad and spouses of Sabahans who have valid Malaysian immigration passes issued by the Department of Immigration. Sabah from Malaysia or have proof of marriage and birth. certificate.

Apart from that, permission is also granted to essential service workers with valid Malaysian immigration passes and non-Sabahan students who have student passes issued by the Sabah Immigration Department.

Permanent Sabah residents with an H code MyPR card or with an entry permit endorsements on their passports will also be able to enter the state.

He said public officials working in Sabah will need to obtain the Section 66 (1) (d) stamp of the Immigration Act 1959/63 at the Sabah Immigration Office upon arrival in the state.

Those wanting to enter the state must submit an application to the Chief Minister’s Department, through the Sabah Office of Internal Affairs and Investigation, to be considered for and undergo a Covid-19 test by the Ministry of Health upon arrival in the entry points of their destinations.

Meanwhile, Ismail Sabri said that a total of 363 people were arrested yesterday for violating the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO).

“Of the total, 307 were issued compound notices, while 56 were forwarded. Among the crimes committed are not wearing a mask (144 people), not handing over tools or registering personal data (129) and not complying with physical distancing (53) ”, he said.
