PUTRAJAYA: Starting tomorrow, requests to enter and leave the country for Malaysians and foreigners, during the Restoration Movement Control Order (RMCO) until December 31, can be made through MyTravelPass, which can be accessed at the website of the Department of Immigration.
Immigration Director General Datuk Khairul Dzaimee Daud said that the approval process for applications made under MyTravelPass will take about five business days.
“If a person needs to enter or leave Malaysia on the 10th day, the MyTravelPass application must be submitted to the department before the 5th day. The application must include the relevant supporting documents, ”he said today at a press conference here.
The categories of requests that can be submitted through MyTravelPass include the reciprocal green lane pass (RGL); periodic travel arrangement pass (PCA); Malaysian spouse and spouse of permanent resident or residency pass and for dependent visa applications, it said.
Other categories include applications for foreign maids and temporary work visit passes, entry applications for expatriates and applications for foreigners under Malaysia My Second Home ((MM2H), he said.
“The status of the application, whether successful or not, will be sent by email. Those who submitted false statements, information or documents can be prosecuted under the Immigration Law. The application will be easy, but approval is not guaranteed, ”he said.
Previously, during the implementation of the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO), requests to enter and leave the country by Malays and foreigners were made by email.
It had caused the department to receive complaints about delays in getting results because too many emails were received, up to 8,000 emails at a time, he said.
He added that the list of categories in MyTravelPass is likely to be reviewed after RMCO ends on December 31, but it will depend on the situation at that time.
“For locals and foreigners who belong to the categories that are allowed to leave or enter the country directly without having to request prior approval, this permit is still in effect and they do not need to use MyTravelPass,” he said.
The MyTravelPass system was developed by the department’s Information Technology Division and is a government initiative to strengthen the delivery system.Called
