The e-Tanah platform of the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur made it easy for the public to search for information without having to visit the departments / agencies themselves.

KUALA LUMPUR: The Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur’s online platform e-Tanah continues to offer people-centered services, providing comprehensive customer service facilities for the public.

The director of the Federal Territories Office of Land and Mines, Muhammad Yasir Yahya, said that the e-Tanah system is a comprehensive, one-stop service platform that acts as a single point of contact for clients of the Office of Mines and Land of Federal Territories.

Services include payment of cease rent and rental of parcels, private title search and strata search, land application, and online application status review.

In a statement, Muhammad Yasir said that the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur’s e-Tanah platform provides an integrated online search system, the One Stop Shop Search (SWS), to facilitate real estate transactions in Kuala Lumpur.

He said that prior to the SWS, applicants would have to visit relevant departments / agencies to verify title information, bankruptcy status and company information, a time-consuming matter as it involves different departments.

The introduction of SWS made it easier for members of the public to search for such information without having to visit the departments / agencies themselves, and it managed to facilitate the procedure for property registration in Kuala Lumpur.

Yasir said the initiative ranked Malaysia 33rd out of 190 countries in the property registration indicators segment of the World Bank’s Doing Business 2020 report, and gained international recognition when it won the Gold Award for Communication Technology from the Public Sector Information (ICT) at the Asean ICT Awards in 2018.

“The capabilities of the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur e-Tanah system will continue to improve through the implementation of Online Filing and Registration, so the filing and registration of land transactions will be fully online by 2021.” .

Implemented in phases, the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur e-Tanah system contains nine main modules covering all land administration transactions, such as land disposal, land development, title registration, transfers, land acquisition, auctions public services and collection of land revenues.
