KUALA LUMPUR: Police Deputy Inspector General Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani confirmed today that two senior Bukit Aman CID officers were arrested yesterday by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).

He said the federal police had not received a full report on the arrest.

“Until now, we are still waiting to find out if the two officers were arrested for a money laundering case or some other case.

“I cannot comment further because the MACC investigation is ongoing,” he told reporters here today.

In another event, Acryl Sani said that the police were conducting an internal investigation into claims made by some sectors on social media about the involvement of police officers in a money laundering syndicate linked to businesses run by certain local artists. .

“We are awaiting a report from our Department of Integrity and Compliance before taking further action,” he said.
