COVID-19 | The stay-at-home requests have spread to four more districts: Klang in Peninsular Malaysia and Sandakan, to show Y Tuaran in Sabah – to stop the spread of Covid-19.
Starting this Friday (October 9), only essential services and manufacturers approved by the Ministry of Industry and International Trade will be able to operate in these four districts.
Travel in and out of these areas will be restricted.
The hours of operation from sunrise to sunset (6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.) will apply to restaurants, pharmacies and convenience stores, while taxi services, e-hailing and gas stations can only operate until 8:00 p.m.
Everybody daily market you will be allowed to trade from 6 am to 2 pm while all other types of markets Guest Y night market will be temporarily banned.
Those wishing to work or travel must obtain permission from the police beforehand. Travel is only allowed for emergencies and official duties.
This order, officially known as a conditional movement control order (MCO), does not have a set expiration date.
Its imposition was decided by the National Security Council this morning and announced by Chief Minister (Security Group) Ismail Sabri Yaakob at 4pm this afternoon.
As of noon yesterday, the number of active Covid-19 cases for Klang was 77, followed by Sandakan, 68 cases, Papar (46), and Tuaran (28).
Districts with more than 40 active cases are classified as “red zones”.
The only “red zones” that are not currently under stay-at-home orders are Kota setar in Kedah and Petal in Selangor.
Meanwhile, Ismail also announced that from now on the police will issue citations for MCO violations at the scene instead of taking offenders to a police station as previously done.
