SIBU (Oct 6): The body of a woman, believed to be in her 30s, was found with her legs tucked inside a black suitcase on the side of the Jalan Aman road here around 6.45am today .

The body, dressed in a gray round-neck T-shirt and long polka dot pants, was discovered by passersby.

Sibu Police Chief ACP Stanley Jonathan Ringgit, when found at the scene, said the body was found partially stuffed into the suitcase because it did not fit in the suitcase.

He revealed that police suspected that the deceased may have died elsewhere and that the body was dumped on the side of the Jalan Aman road here.

“There are no injuries on the body. There are also no signs of a fight or weapon found at the scene.

“The case is classified as a murder pending an autopsy because we do not know how he died.

“It could be due to illness. Could it be that her family disowned her after learning she was ill, or if not, why were notes found with the body? he said.

Stanley added that they will track down family members of the deceased from notes and information gathered at the scene.

Two handwritten notes in Mandarin were found near the body, one of them bearing the MyKad number with the state code of ’08’, believed to be Perak.
