PETALING JAYA: Kota Damansara Assemblyman Shatiri Mansor has admitted testing positive for Covid-19, the second Selangor Assemblyman to have been infected with the disease.

In a video posted to Facebook on Monday (October 5), he said he had a second test done after his wife tested positive for the virus on September 30.

He added that he went to Sabah together with a group of seven and returned home on September 27, but initially tested negative after the mandatory screening upon arrival at the airport.

“I did the second test on October 2 and today, October 5, the chief physician of the Petaling district health office informed me that I am Covid-19 positive,” he said in Monday’s video.

He revealed that since they were all close contacts of his wife, the district health office told them to take another test.

Shatiri said that upon returning from Sabah, the seven had been placed on a home surveillance order and told to self-quarantine for 14 days until October 11.

“We have stayed home from then until today,” he added, which doctors have confirmed that three out of seven in the group have tested negative for Covid-19, but are still in quarantine.

Earlier, DAP’s Kampung Tunku Assemblyman Lim Yi Wei said he tested positive for the coronavirus after his return from Sabah.
