PETALING JAYA: The government has announced a conditional movement control order (CMCO) in Kota Kinabalu, Putatan and Penampang, three districts of Sabah, in an attempt to stop the spread of Covid-19.
Here are the details of the CMCO and other restrictions that will go into effect after midnight on Wednesday.
- Travel in and out of these three districts is prohibited, except for those in essential services, including factories and people involved in the food supply chain.
- The Ministry of Industry and International Trade will publish a list of essential services in these areas.
- Entry to Sabah is not allowed except for Malaysian citizens of Sabah, holders of immigration passes issued by the Sabah Department of Immigration who are currently outside of Sabah and couples who are part of essential services. Those who are not included in these categories must apply for a special permit from the Sabah government.
- Only two people from each household can go out to get supplies.
- Not all non-essential businesses are allowed to open.
- Restaurants, eateries, and miscellaneous shops are only open from 6:00 a.m. M. At 6:00 p. M. And dining is not allowed on the premises. They can only open for deliveries and takeout.
- Gas stations can only open from 6 am to 6 pm
- Markets can only be open from 6 am to 2 pm
- Night markets, wholesale markets, farmers markets and “tamu” are not allowed to operate.
- Government and private hospitals and clinics can operate around the clock.
- Pharmacies and stores that sell drugs can only operate between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.
- All activities and services at airports and ports can continue, but travelers and those who work in these places must first obtain permission from the police.
- Vehicles carrying essential items must first obtain permission from the police.
- Taxi, e-hailing and food delivery services can only operate from 6 a.m. M. At 8 p. M. There is a two passenger limit for taxi and e-hailing services.
- Express buses and minibuses are not allowed.
- Travel is allowed in an emergency, but requires prior approval from authorities.
- Residents cannot leave their respective districts and go to work during CMCO. Employers must abide by this directive and allow their workers to go on vacation or work from home.
- Approvals to work will only be granted to those in essential services with permission from the police.
- Muslim and non-Muslim houses of worship, including suraus, public and private institutions of higher education, schools, kindergartens, kindergartens, tahfiz schools and kindergartens cannot function.
- Not all sports, recreational, social and cultural activities are allowed.
- The police are in charge of securing the districts and will be assisted by the Armed Forces, Civil Defense Force and Rela.
