PUTRAJAYA: The Ministry of Health reported 432 new cases of Covid-19 today, almost all of which were local broadcasts.

It is the highest number of Covid-19 cases recorded in one day to date.

Chief Health Officer Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah said this brought the total number of Covid-19 infections to 12,813.

He also said 57 people were discharged, bringing the number of recoveries in the country to 10,340.

224 cases reported in the Tembok group in Kedah

Kedah registered 241 new cases today, Sabah 130 and Selangor 34.

Kuala Lumpur and Terengganu each registered 5 new cases today, followed by Labuan (4) and Putrajaya, Johor and Perak (2 each), and Negeri Sembilan, Pahang, Melaka and Kelantan (1 each).

The returnees from Sabah were linked to new cases in almost every state.

The Tembok group in Kedah registered 224 new cases today, the highest number of new cases registered in a single group.

The Tembok group is focused on Alor Setar Prison, which will be under an Enhanced Movement Control Order (TEMCO) from midnight today until October 20 due to the increase in the number of Covid-19 cases in the area. .

Eleven new cases were detected in the Bah Sintok group, also in Kedah, while 39 new cases were detected in the Bangau Bangau group, Sabah.

The vast majority of new cases in the 57-year-old Sabah were detected after screening.
