Covid-19: Kota Kinabalu, Penampang and Putatan under conditional OLS since October 7

KUALA LUMPUR: Kota Kinabalu, Penampang and Putatan will be placed under the conditional movement control order (MCO) starting on Wednesday (October 7).

Chief Minister (Security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob (Photo) said in a statement on Monday (October 5) that the three districts in Sabah would be under conditional MCO as of 12:01 am Wednesday following a decision during a special ministerial meeting on Sunday (October 4).

“Movement in and out of the three areas will not be allowed during this conditional MCO and only essential services such as factories and those connected to essential services will be allowed.

“The Ministry of Industry and International Trade will name the essential services involved in these areas,” he said, adding that the implementation of the conditional MCO there was necessary to curb the spread of Covid-19 and allow the identification of specific cases. .

Ismail said that standard operating procedures that will be in effect from Wednesday include:

– Entry to Sabah would be prohibited, except for those from Sabah and holders of passes issued by the Sabah Immigration Department who are located in Peninsular Malaysia, Sarawak and Labuan, as well as couples involved in essential services.

– Only two people can go out per household to buy food and basic necessities.

– All non-essential services will be closed.

– Restaurants, grocery stores, and miscellaneous stores may be open from 6 a.m. M. At 6 p. M.

– The purchase of food will only be allowed through drive-through, delivery and take-away.

– Gas stations may only open from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

– The markets can only open from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

– The opening of night markets, wholesale markets and spending tani will not be allowed.

-The clinics and government and private hospitals may open 24 hours.

– Pharmacies and drug stores will be allowed to operate from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

– Activities and services in all airports and ports can operate while the movement of personnel and passengers must receive permission from the police in advance.

– Vehicles carrying essential items can enter and exit with the approval of the police.

-Taxis, e-hailing services can carry a maximum of two passengers and food delivery is allowed from 6 pm to 8 pm

– The operation of express and transit buses is not allowed.

– For emergencies, circulation is allowed upon request from the authorities.

– Those who work are not allowed to leave their area and are not allowed to work in their offices during the conditional MCO.

– Employers must comply with this order and allow staff to go on vacation or work from home.

– Only essential services can work with the approval of the police.

– Mosques, surau, places of worship, public and private institutes of higher education, schools, kindergartens, kindergartens, tahfiz schools and kindergartens must remain closed.

– Not all sports, recreational, social and cultural activities are allowed.

– Police are responsible for monitoring and securing infected areas with the help of the Malaysian Armed Forces, Civil Defense Force and Rela.
