PETALING JAYA: With the number of Covid-19 cases on the rise, Health Director General Tan Sri Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah (Photo) brought together leaders to continue fighting the virus.

“For all of our leaders, we have a great battle ahead.

“Our country depends on us despite many sleepless nights and chronic fatigue. Wipe your tears, lift your chin, look ahead. Let’s smooth the curve again, ”Dr. Noor Hisham posted on Twitter.

Malaysia registered a high number of cases on two consecutive days with 317 new infections on Saturday. There were 287 cases on Friday.

But Dr. Noor Hisham said that health authorities were stepping up their efforts to detect cases and preparing for an increase in the number of positive cases in the coming days.

Four districts of Sabah, namely Lahad Datu, Tawau, Kunak and Semporna, are subject to the targeted enhanced movement control order and aggressive screening is carried out by the health authorities.

Dr. Noor Hisham said the ministry expected to see an increase in cases in the coming days as field activities focused on those areas.
