Dr. Noor Hisham to the avant-garde: smooth the curve again

PETALING JAYA: With the number of Covid-19 cases on the rise, Health Director General Tan Sri Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah has called on leaders to face the battle against the virus.

“For all of our leaders, we have a great battle ahead. Our country depends on us despite many sleepless nights and chronic fatigue, wipe away your tears, lift your chin, look ahead, let’s smooth the curve again,” he said. Dr. Noor Hisham in a post on his Twitter account.

Malaysia recorded a high number of Covid-19 cases on two consecutive days with 317 new infections, the highest daily increase so far on Saturday (October 3).

On Friday (October 2), 287 cases were registered.

However, Dr. Noor Hisham said that health authorities are stepping up their efforts to detect Covid-19 cases and are preparing for an increase in the number of positive cases in the coming days.

Four districts of Sabah, namely Lahad Datu, Tawau, Kunak and Semporna, are subject to the targeted enhanced movement control order and aggressive screening is carried out by the health authorities.

Dr Noor Hisham said the Ministry expects to see an increase in cases in the coming days as field activities focus on those areas.
