Trump made the announcement on his Twitter account on Thursday (October 1): “Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for COVID-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through it TOGETHER!”
Earlier on Thursday, he said they were both beginning a “quarantine process” awaiting coronavirus test results after his senior assistant Hope Hicks, with whom he spent considerable time this week, tested positive for COVID-19. .
The president’s doctor, Sean Conley, issued a memo to reporters saying he received confirmation of positive tests Thursday night.
“The President and First Lady are doing well at the moment and plan to stay home in the White House during their convalescence,” Dr. Conley wrote.
