Anwar’s ‘most’ is still a guessing game

YOUR OPINION | “Of course, the PN leaders are dying to know who those Umno MPs are who support Anwar.”

‘Restore the mandate of the people’ discussed at Harapan meeting

Scant details on Anwar takeover bid, DAP expects to see evidence

Malaysia Bharu: I don’t think the DAP, or anyone else, should get too eager or have their knickers in a who’s who spin on the supposed majority of PKR leader Anwar Ibrahim to take over the government of Perikatan Nasional (PN). .

However, one thing that is evident at this juncture is that Anwar’s supposed majority is made possible by defectors from Umno, precisely the kind that toppled the legitimate government of Pakatan Harapan.

Anwar’s move is insane, considering that Harapan and his followers still resent the betrayal of Bersatu, a party almost entirely of defectors from Umno.

We have also witnessed the events in Sabah where the legitimate Warisan government was overthrown by defectors who were lured in with money and positions.

Defection in the name of money and positions is the curse of our corrupt political system.

It is inconceivable that PKR and Anwar, who base their struggle on the principle of reform as their core value, would see fit to claim the right to the post of prime minister on the back of defectors from Umno known for their corruption and treason.

Anwar’s latest, in his series of ventures to capture the post of prime minister, likely has one of the most devastating effects on Harapan overall at the polls.

PKR and those who support its meeting with the defectors of Umno to take over the government will be held accountable for the final results. They will do so at their own risk.

Hood: Anthony Loke, leader of the DAP, you and your party have been pushing and harassing Anwar nonstop to get the numbers needed to claim the mandate of the people.

As Anwar said at the press conference, he will only release the details of the government’s inauguration to the Agong first. So please wait.

The DAP has somehow become lallang. One minute you want Dr. Mahathir Mohamad to be Prime Minister, then you want Warisan President Shafie Apdal in his place. Not surprisingly, Warisan lost the Sabah election. It is because it is associated with Mahathir.

When are you going to support Anwar 100 percent? When Mahathir imported MPs from Umno, including Hamzah Zainuddin, into Harapan, the DAP meekly submitted to his whims and fantasies.

Any number of MPs from Umno or other parties who can help Anwar regain the mandate of the people will be considered a million times better than the traitors who were responsible for the collapse of the Harapan government.

Anonymous_ 15897060865429524: @Capo, based on your comments, you are obviously a huge fan of Anwar. For the record, I’m neither a fan of Anwar nor do I hate him. For me, he is just another politician: sometimes they get it right, sometimes they get it wrong.

Anwar has good qualities. He is a good talker. Charismatic to a degree. And he claims a moderate stance (though his “don’t scare Malaysians” point of view is quite telling).

However, this recent action of his indicates that he is consumed by the desire to be prime minister. It is your primary objective. Being the prime minister at any cost, principles to hell.

He is willing to sleep with the devil, but in this case, it seems that the devil took advantage of Anwar’s vanity and lust.

I’m sure you will not agree with me. For you, Anwar can do nothing wrong. It’s okay. We all have the right to different points of view.

EvinK: DAP is like a friend who, after finding a new cooler friend, forgets his old and loyal friends. They are like teenage brats and have become terribly upset after losing the federal government.

Either he unconditionally supports his coalition partners, as Amanah has done, or he doesn’t. The DAP we see today is similar to Umno in PN: wanting to first see how things benefit them in exchange for their full support.

I never thought I’d feel this way about DAP, but here we are.

Justice: The DAP is always associated with Mahathir, who is totally against Anwar becoming prime minister. So why should Anwar reveal important details to the DAP?

Warisan lost the recent Sabah state elections precisely and mainly because the Sabahans, especially Kadazan Dusun Murut (KDM), hated Warisan’s association with Mahathir, whom they see as the master of the IC Project for Pendatang Tanpa Izin (PTI) that resulted in The Sabahans are being systematically outnumbered now.

That was also the main reason Upko lost because the KDM is against Upko teaming up with Warisan, who they perceive as a Mahathir puppet.

Light: It is the right decision not to reveal the details until after meeting the Agong. Who knows, there could be Trojan horses within the Harapan presidential council or some loose mouths could let the cat out of the bag.

Of course, the PN leaders are dying to know who those Umno MPs who support Anwar are, and once they do, they will leave no stone unturned to win them over with many incentives.

I think, therefore I exist: As each hour passes, Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin and his group have tighter control of the situation in the country.

Shafie, being the gentleman that he is, did not use the machinery of government to get his message across to rural areas during the campaign for Sabah’s state elections, which recently concluded.

This backdoor lot didn’t even flinch to use all the machinery and deliver treats to voters. How do you fight it?

Harapan had that one chance, but it imploded inside and broke. I think the coalition is now a long-forgotten myth.

We are on our way to being entrenched in an old vicious administration that is only for itself. Forget the people or your mandate.
