Diogo Jota is ‘really difficult to train’

Liverpool player Diogo Jota is “difficult to train”.

Jurgen Klopp’s assistant coach Pepijn Lijnders was speaking before the Carabao Cup clash against Arsenal when he mentioned the new arrival.

Liverpool signed the forward from the Wolves in a deal worth up to £ 45 million, the BBC said, and he scored his debut goal for the club when the Reds beat the Gunners 3-1 on Monday night.

His beautiful volley led to some early comparisons between Diogo Jota and the lost deal by Timo Werner, who hasn’t started running for Chelsea the way Jota has at Anfield.

It is clear that the 23-year-old is a good player and has some innate traits that make him an elite player; or give him the potential to be elite.

Lijnders loves Jota and said he already has the same technical ability as Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah, which should scare many in the Premier League.

Some players just seem to be in the right place at the right time, and on many levels, this insight cannot really be taught.

Lijnders told the club’s official website:

“I said last week that he is technically on the same level as our three forwards and the only thing I found really difficult to train is intuition in the box, being in the right position to score as the pure instinct of a forward, which we want. of many players, of course, but especially of our three forwards. “

With some time to adjust to how Klopp wants to play, Jota could rise to the same level as his fellow attackers.

Liverpool already have an incredible goal threat thanks to Mane and Salah cutting from the outside, while Firmino always has the potential to reach the end of something.

Klopp has added to their strength in depth by bringing in Takumi Minamino last January and Jota this summer. Xherdan Shaqiri’s resurgence against Lincoln gave an extra dimension to the attack and the Reds look fit and healthy going forward.

We can expect to see Jota start against Arsenal in the Carabao Cup, especially after he caused them a lot of trouble in the 10 minutes he was on the pitch. The forward could have hit three but had to settle for just one.
