Kedah member exco positive for Covid-19

The Kedah Health Department is tracking and examining the councilor’s close contacts.

ALOR SETAR: The Kedah Health Department has confirmed that a state executive councilor, who was in Sabah recently for the state elections, tested positive for Covid-19.

Its director, Dr. Mohd Fikri Ujang, said the former state co-worker was admitted to Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital yesterday for treatment.

“The Health Department is tracking and reviewing the councilman’s close contacts, including his family members, in the last 14 days.

“So far, only this councilor has been confirmed positive for the virus, while no other member of the former state council has been infected,” he said when contacted here today.

The infected ex-state member is said to be a close contact for his assistant, who was confirmed to have contracted Covid-19 two days ago.

Menteri Besar Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor was reported to have said that three state exco members were absent from the exco meeting yesterday because they were in home quarantine.
