Jadon Sancho to Man Utd: Ed Woodward Likely to Risk Transfer as Deadline Approaches | Soccer Sport

Unless he has spent the last few months in outer space, and given everything that happens in the world, we would be envious if he had, he would know that Manchester United want to sign Jadon Sancho. However, time is running out for Ed Woodward and Matt Judge. And, with five players arguing behind the scenes, it looks like the Red Devils are about to go for an alternative.

Manchester United want Sancho.

They have done so since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer walked into the gate as a replacement for José Mourinho, with the Norwegian a huge fan of the Borussia Dortmund star.

United thought it could land the 20-year-old after securing qualification for the Champions League on the final day of the season with a 2-0 win over Leicester in July.

But with Dortmund demanding £ 108m, United have been unable to get the striker.

In an ideal world, they would have no problem spending money. After all, they are one of the richest clubs on the entire planet.

But the coronavirus crisis has hit them hard. £ 5m is lost for every game played behind closed doors at Old Trafford, losing cash both from ticket sales and from what is spent in its shop, bars and cafes around the stadium.

United is also aware. Some of the spending that has been made across the country has not gone unnoticed in Westminster, with some clubs spending more than others.

The Red Devils, whose behavior was exemplary during the early stages of the pandemic, do not want to break any records as a result. They want Sancho, make no mistake, but not for any price.

And given that United has five offensive players on their radar, it looks like they’re going to look the other way. However, all the players on your short list would represent bets.

First of all, Douglas Costa.

There came a time when the Brazilian international was a club and country regular, with the Samba star particularly impressive during his time in Germany with Bayern Munich.

But now it is declining. Costa found the net only three times for Juventus last season and as a result, Andrea Pirlo deemed him surplus to the requirements.

What Man Utd boss Ed Woodward thinks about Mason Greenwood and Jadon Sancho

The Croatian international flourished on loan at Bayern Munich last season, as he won the treble and, curiously, is no longer loved by parent club Inter Milan.

But, at age 31, Perisic’s best years could be behind him. And the tough-natured Premier League could be a tough division for him.

A third player on United’s thoughts is Watford star Ismaila Sarr, who scored six goals and recorded six assists in 30 Premier League games last season.

But the 22-year-old would be making a substantial leap and, after just a year in English football, he is still relatively unproven.

United could also turn to Josh King, as he was unable to sign the Bournemouth star during the January transfer window.

However, while King is talented, he has had his injury issues during his time at Vitality Stadium and would not improve on anything the club currently has at its disposal.

The fifth player on United’s thinking right now is Napoli star Arkadiusz Milik.

However, while deadly, the Polish international has also had his injury problems over the years, hence the willingness of the Serie A giants to part ways.

For so long, United have loved Sancho.

But now, Woodward seems ready to go for Plan B, C, D, E and F.
