The concrete piece of the parapet of the Kajang MRT line near Kota Damansara Station is properly and securely attached, and the visible space is part of the design.

In a joint statement on Friday (September 25), MRT Corp and Rapid Rail Sdn Bhd, the operator of the MRT Kajang line, confirmed that it was safe based on an inspection of the elevated track section.

MRT Corp said the space that can be seen between the parapet pieces is designed as such and positioned at an angle to each other to cater for the widened guideway near the station.

They assured the public that there was no cause for concern, as there is no risk of the parapet dislodging.

Regular checks are also carried out on all assets on the Kajang MRT line to ensure that they are in good condition and pose no danger to the public.

MRT Corp thanked the public for the concern raised on the matter.

It was previously reported that a concrete slab from the MRT line near Kota Damansara Station, Petaling Jaya, appeared to be detached from the rest of the structure, raising some concern from the public.

StarMetro received a complaint saying the structure looked unstable and could possibly come off and hit motorists or even pedestrians under the Persiaran Surian.

StarMetro, when visiting the site, found that the slab did not move when the trains traveled the line.
