PETALING JAYA: Three students were injured after a car driver trying to flee from two gunmen pursuing them crashed into them in Banting today.

In a statement, Selangor police said that two armed men on a motorcycle opened fire on a BMW car driven by a bodyguard and his employer at 12:45 p.m.

The car collided with several students in front of a high school and other vehicles as the driver tried to escape from the gunmen.

“Three students suffered leg and neck injuries after they were believed to have been hit by the vehicle.

“All three victims were taken to hospital for treatment,” police said in a statement.

Police said the two victims were shot several times in the chest and other parts of the body and were also being treated at the hospital.

Police believe that a fight between two groups was the motive for the shooting.
