Home quarantine bracelets come in various colors, says Chief Health Officer Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah.

PETALING JAYA: The Ministry of Health said today that “quarantine bracelets” come in all colors, and not just pink as is commonly assumed.

Chief Health Officer Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah said today that the bracelets could be white, blue, red and yellow. “Colors are subject to stock levels in the area and are determined by the respective district health office,” he said in a tweet.

The place and date the medical swab was taken is written on the bracelets. The user must remain at home until the 14-day self-isolation ends.

“The District Health Office will remove the band once the quarantine is over,” he said.

Noor Hisham said a police report should be filed against any individual found to be in breach of procedures to stop broadcasting.

In August, a 72-year-old woman was jailed for one day and fined RM8,000 after a photograph showing her eating at a restaurant while wearing a pink bracelet was widely circulated. She later pleaded guilty to disobeying home quarantine orders.
