PETALING JAYA: A 41-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly raping his 16-year-old stepdaughter several times since last year.

Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Nik Ezanee Mohd Faisal said the man was detained near a restaurant here on Wednesday (September 16).

“He has been in preventive detention for seven days.

“We are investigating the case under Section 376B of the Penal Code for incest,” said ACP Nik Ezanee when contacted on Friday (September 18).

The victim had filed a report at 11:26 a.m. on Tuesday (September 15), alleging that she was raped by her stepfather in 2019, as well as from March to June of this year in a district house during the motion control order ( OLS).

“I was traumatized and suffered from depression. She was also afraid to tell her mother about the incidents.

“However, he finally trusted his counseling teacher on Monday (September 14) and subsequently filed the police report,” said ACP Nik Ezanee.

Some people have been called in to help with the investigations, he added.

“The victim has also been sent to a hospital for a medical checkup.

“We urge anyone with information to come forward or call Petaling Jaya Police at 03-7966 2222,” he said.
