PUTRAJAYA (Bernama): More than 600 healthcare workers in Malaysia have been infected with Covid-19 from February to Wednesday (September 16), says Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr. Adham Baba.

Of these, 406 were government hospital workers, while the rest were attached to private and university hospitals.

Dr Adham said that among the steps taken to lift the spirits of Health Ministry workers after contracting the virus was providing them with psychosocial support through the ministry’s Crisis Preparedness and Response Center (CPRC).

“Those affected, in addition to having sessions with psychiatrists, will continue with the treatment. In addition, they will no longer be allowed to treat patients with Covid-19,” he told the media after launching the event “Putrajaya In Orange” in conjunction with World Patient. Safety Day 2020 here on Thursday (September 17).

He said that among the concerns raised by health workers through the ministry’s psychosocial support hotline are stress from being away from family, having to adhere to strict standard operating procedures (SOPs), burnout and related issues. with the special Covid-19 assignment.
