KUALA LUMPUR: Raja Azmi Raja Nazuddin will be the new COO of the Malaysian Aviation Commission (Mavcom) from Tuesday 15 September.

“Raja Azmi brings with him extensive knowledge and experience in the aviation industry, as well as in the corporate sector,” he said in a statement Monday.

Mavcom said it was confident that it could lead it well in promoting a resilient and consumer-focused civil aviation sector.

Raja Azmi will replace Azmir Zain, who stepped down as COO, from August 14 as he wanted to pursue other interests. He had been with the Commission since April 1, 2016.

Mavcom CEO Datuk Seri Saripuddin Kasim thanked Azmir for his leadership and contributions to the industry, consumers and Mavcom.

Raja Azmi was previously the Group CEO of Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd from January 4, 2019 to January 6, 2020. Before that, he was the group’s CFO.

He holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Bath, UK. She is also a member of the Malaysian Institute of Chartered Accountants and the Malaysian Institute of Accountants.
