An improved movement control order in the Melur area of ​​Aman Jaya, Kedah, was extended until September 27.

KUALA LUMPUR: The Enhanced Administrative Motion Control Order (EMCO) imposed in the Kenanga and Mawar areas in Aman Jaya, Kedah, will end at midnight today.

However, the EMCO for the Melur area has been extended until September 27.

Chief Security Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the decision was made after a second screening exercise on Sept. 9 showed no more positive Covid-19 cases in Kenanga, and only one case in Mawar, than since then. has been placed in a quarantine facility.

“The EMCO had to expand in the Melur area after 12 positive cases were detected in the second detection,” he said today in a statement.

The administrative EMCO in Melur involves 609 households with an estimated population of 2,529 people, Ismail said, and urged those affected by the order to continue to comply with directives from the Ministry of Health and the Police.

The administrative EMCO had been in effect in all three Aman Jaya areas since August 28.
