Manchester United defender Harry Maguire will remain the captain of the Premier League club despite being sentenced to suspended prison by a Greek court during the closed season, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said.
Maguire received a suspended prison sentence of 21 months and 10 days after an alleged fight during a family vacation on the island of Mykonos.

The 27-year-old, who was expelled by Gareth Southgate from England’s UEFA Nations League team hours after being found guilty by the Greek court, has maintained his innocence and was granted a full new trial after appealing the verdict.
“Harry … had a difficult summer. He didn’t have a long break. His break was different from the others, as we gave him a few more days and then he came back and looked good,” Solskjaer told United’s website.
“He has handled it really well and of course I will be here to support him. He will be our captain. We will leave Harry and his people and the process to run.
“To me he is a superior human being, absolutely superior and has always been a positive guy with the right values. So I really hope we can see Harry at his best.”
Midfielder Paul Pogba is back in training after testing positive for coronavirus and Solskjaer said he hoped the French international would be available for his first home game of the season against Crystal Palace on September 19.
“Paul has had a couple of training sessions so he has missed a few due to the virus. But Paul gets in shape fast,” added Solskjaer.
“Of course, he worked really hard to come back after the lockout last time and played most of the games. Hopefully, he’ll be ready for next weekend. I’m not 100% sure though.”
