Make a wise decision in state elections, Muhyiddin urges Sabahans

PUTATAN: Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has called on the people of Sabah to make a wise decision during the state elections scheduled for September 26 so that they can benefit from the development of the state.

He said that only a wise decision by the people could forge close cooperation between the state and federal governments to ensure the development of Sabah.

“The closer the cooperation, the better. A larger allocation can also be given (to Sabah), ”he said at the welcoming event with the residents of Taman Sri Keramat PPR, here yesterday.

Also present was the president of the Sabah State Development Action Council, Datuk Seri, Dr. Ronald Kiandee.

Muhyiddin said that the people of Sabah would definitely want to enjoy a better life with various infrastructures and amenities that the Perikatan Nasional government can provide, as it has always been concerned about the welfare of the people.

The prime minister said that although the government faces global threats from Covid-19, the support of Malaysians as a whole has allowed the country to emerge as one of the best countries in the world in managing the pandemic.

“While we adhere to SOPs (standard operating procedures), we also want to accelerate our economic recovery.

“However, as we face these difficult times, everyone, at all levels, must remain united and work closely together so that the development of the country continues to persist no matter how difficult the situation may be.

“For Sabah, it is hoped that, as a very rich state that has various treasures and wise people, it can develop into an important development region in the country,” he said.

Previously, the heavy downpour did not dampen the spirits of the residents of Taman Sri Keramat PPR to attend the meeting and greeting event with the prime minister.
