The chairman of the DAP disciplinary committee, Chong Chieng Jen, says Julius Favianus is being fired as the DAP candidate on a Warisan ballot will contest the position of Bingkor.

KUALA LUMPUR: DAP fired Julius Favianus, a member of its Liawan branch, effective immediately for running as a candidate on a PLD ballot for the Bingkor seat in today’s nominations for the Sabah state elections.

The chairman of the DAP Disciplinary Committee, Chong Chieng Jen, explained that the party and its coalition partners in Warisan Plus in Sabah had decided that the DAP candidate would challenge Bingkor’s position on a Warisan ballot.

“Any action by a party member to run as a candidate against the agreement reached by the Warisan Plus coalition partners will be considered an act of insubordination and indiscipline.

“It is also an act of treason to the people who wish to retain the Warisan Plus government.

“DAP will not tolerate such betrayal that it justifies immediate termination of its membership in the party,” he said in a statement here.

The DAP candidate for the seat is Odom @ Peter Dhoms Saili @ Soili.

Warisan Plus is made up of Warisan, DAP, Upko, PKR, and Amanah.

Voting is September 26.
