Filmmaker and filmmaker Anil Mehta has expressed regret at the death of actor Irrfan Khan. Anil worked with Irrfan on his latest film, Angrezi Medium, which premiered last month.

Speaking to SpotBoye, Anil revealed how Irrfan worked on the film despite being wrong. “I used to go to the hospital and we used to hear all of that. However, I never spoke to him personally about it. But yes, I spoke to his wife Sutapa and she explained to me about her struggle, ”he said. “She told me about her chemotherapy and how, due to the infection she had developed, they gave her antibiotics and, consequently, they were not able to do some chemotherapy sessions. How sad ”, he added.

Irrfan was diagnosed with a neuroendocrine tumor in 2018. He received treatment in London for almost a year and returned to India to shoot the Angrezi half of Homi Adajania. The team also filmed for the film in London, where Irrfan was still receiving treatment.

“We finished filming for the movie in London and he stayed behind for more treatment. He returned to India only after treatment ended, ”Anil said, adding that Irrfan also had a small role in his movie Aaja Nachle, starring Madhuri Dixit in the lead role.

Actor Irrfan Khan died at the age of 53 on Wednesday after being admitted to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai, where he was under observation for colon infection.
