PUTRAJAYA: They are still investigating whether negligence, mechanical failure or system failure caused an electric train service (ETS) to graze a KTM Komuter train last week, says Transport Minister Datuk Seri, Dr. Wee Ka Siong.

He said that the real cause of the incident is still being investigated by the Public Land Transport Agency (Apad).

“I want to know what caused the trains to rub, if it was negligence or if it was caused by a mechanical failure or a system failure. We will investigate to identify why it happened, ”he said after submitting star ratings to driving institutes on Tuesday (September 8).

Dr. Wee expects a report from Apad on the incident soon.

The incident occurred on Friday (September 4) near Kuang Station, resulting in a KTM Komuter passenger suffering minor injuries.

The other 29 commuter train passengers and 93 ETS passengers were unharmed in the 6.37pm incident.

Both trains were going in the same direction.

The KTM Komuter train was heading to Sungai Buloh station from Tanjung Malim, while the ETS was heading to Kuala Lumpur Sentral station from Padang Besar.
