Liverpool can raise £ 70 million by selling seven players in this transfer window

[ad_1]

After nearly 10 years in control of Liverpool, Fenway Sports Group’s transfer approach has been turned to stone.

While you are never shy about investing in the first team team, most of the funding comes from making better use of the market.

A clear promise for Jurgen Klopp is that any money raised from the sale of players will be used to bolster its resources, such as the transfer of Kostas Tsimikas shortly after Dejan Lovren’s departure this summer.

There are other fringe and young players on Liverpool’s books who could be moved between now and the window closing on October 5.

And that could still provide the funding for Klopp to bring in some newer faces as his team looks to defend their Premier League crown.

Marko Grujic (potential sale of £ 20 million)

Grujic became a popular and integral part of Hertha Berlin’s midfield after having enjoyed successive stints on loan from the Bundesliga squad. Despite being a substitute for Community Shield last month, the 24-year-old Serbian has not played a competitive game for the Reds since 2017. Liverpool have advanced since Grujic became Klopp’s first signing in January 2016, and a Permanent change to Hertha could be in sight.

Harry Wilson (£ 18 million)

Liverpool were asking for at least £ 20m for the Wales international before the coronavirus hit. However, it appears that transfer values have yet to be hit too hard by the pandemic, indicating that the Reds may demand close to their original price. Having spent a season at Derby County in the Championship, Wilson now has a Premier League year under his belt after his stint at Bournemouth. Liverpool will not grant another loan and, at 23, it may be time for a permanent move with interested Leeds United. However, Klopp would use the player if he stays.

Taiwo Awoniyi (£ 9 million)

Work permit issues have meant that the Nigerian forward has never played for Liverpool despite being signed more than five years ago. The 23-year-old has bolstered his reputation during a string of loan assignments, most recently at Mainz in the Bundesliga last season. Celtic is still tied to a £ 9 million move.

Loris Karius (£ 8 million)

There is no long-term future at Liverpool for the German goalkeeper, who returned to Melwood earlier this year after interrupting his two-year stint at Turkish Besiktas. A return to his homeland seems the most likely outcome.

Liverpool FC essential news

Yasser Larouci (£ 6 million)

Liverpool will look to sell the left-back next month after he refused to sign a new contract. Larouci, who was part of the Reds team that won the FA Youth Cup last year, made his breakthrough with the first team last season. For comparison, Rafa Camacho, who also turned down a contract with 12 months remaining on his current contract with the Reds, left last year for around £ 7 million.

Nat Phillips (£ 5 million)

The center-back has impressed Liverpool’s coaching staff since returning from a season-long loan at Stuttgart, whom he helped return to the Bundesliga last season. Phillips, who appeared against Everton in the FA Cup in January, has already attracted a number of suitors from the Championship and abroad.

Ben Woodburn (£ 4 million)

After breaking into the first team at the age of 17 and becoming the club’s youngest scorer in November 2016, the Welsh international has had to deal with a series of injury setbacks. Even at just 20 years old, a permanent departure, after being on loan at Oxford United last season, is perhaps the best course of action.
