KUCHING (September 6): Chief Works Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof attacked Pasir Puteh MP Nik Muhammad Zawawi Nik Salleh for his recent biblical comments, saying that what the PAS MP said had nothing to do with Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) was not supported by the state coalition.

He stressed that even though GPS was working with the federal government of Perikatan Nasional (PN), that did not mean that GPS would endorse what an individual or deputy from the PN coalition had said, as it was against their fight to fight for Sarawak.

“What is the difference with the Democratic Action Party (DAP) and the PAS working together last time? So even though GPS is working together with the federal government, we are working together through PN Plus GPS. That means we are not part of PN.

“GPS is GPS. Our fight for Sarawak is clear: we give priority to our own Sarawak, which also includes our religious freedom, for the sake of our peace and harmony, ”he told reporters this afternoon after a symbolic handover ceremony for SK Tan’s roofed corridor. just finished. Sri Datuk Haji Mohamed to the management of the school in Taman Malihah here.

Tupong Assemblyman Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman was also present.

Petra Jaya’s MP also toured the school grounds to see if the school required other facilities to ensure its students had a better learning experience.

He added that Nik Muhammad Zawawi’s comment on the Bible was his own point of view and may not reflect the point of view of his party.

“Please do not bring this problem to Sarawak because we are a peaceful state where we respect each other regardless of our race and religion,” said Fadillah.

Fadillah said that Sarawak, through the GPS government, had shown what it was fighting for by establishing the Unit for Other Religions (Unifor) led by Senior Deputy Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas.

“This is a testimony that the GPS state government is different from that of the peninsula. That is why we separated ourselves from politics in the peninsula ”, he said.
