Singapore registers 40 new cases, 13 imported

SINGAPORESingapore preliminarily confirmed an additional 40 new cases of Covid-19 in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of infections in the republic to 57,022.

“According to our investigations so far, there are four cases in the community, all of which are bearers of work passes,” said the Ministry of Health of the republic (MINSA) in its brief data published here today.

The ministry said there were 13 imported cases, all of which had been listed on the stay-at-home notice upon arrival in Singapore.

In the full data released last night, the republic classified 923 of the reported cases as imported, 2,225 as community cases and 53,834 involving dorm residents.

A total of 56,267 patients have fully recovered from the infection and 50 confirmed cases remain in the hospital, but none in the intensive care unit.

A total of 638 patients who have mild symptoms, or are clinically well but still tested positive for Covid-19, have been isolated and are being cared for in community facilities.

To date, 27 people have died from complications due to Covid-19 in the republic.

Yesterday three new clusters were identified in Cochrane Lodge I; Mandai Lodge I; and the Tuas Sur bedroom.-Named
