Just under a month after losing his grandmother to Covid-19, Uzbek KL actor Daler Yusuf announced that his father had also died from the disease. He was 53 years old.

Daler’s father sought treatment in the hospital for more than 10 days before succumbing to the disease. According to Daily News, contracted the virus from Daler’s grandmother, who died on August 7.

The 27-year-old, who grew up on a cotton farm in Uzbekistan, first came to Malaysia a decade ago to continue his studies.

Since then he has made a name for himself as a lead actor in various local dramas such as Mr. Husband Mat Salih Celup.

Daler said in a moving tribute to his grandmother: “For every success I have achieved, it may be because of your prayers to Allah. For every strength I needed to travel far from home, I carry your strength with me.”
