PETALING JAYA: The Ministry of Health has detected a new Covid-19 cluster in Port Dickson in Negeri Sembilan.

In a statement, the director general of health, Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah, said that the group, known as the Bunga group, involved four members of the crew of a ship docked in the port.

All four are among 34 members of the ship’s staff who have a history of traveling to Singapore.

Noor Hisham said the ships’ crews had been tested and six people tested negative.

The remaining 24 crew members await their results.

“The positive cases in this group involve two Malaysians and two foreigners. All four cases were asymptomatic and had been quarantined in a hotel in Selangor. After testing positive, they were admitted to Sungai Buloh Hospital. “

Noor Hisham said there was no risk of infection within the community, as it was an imported group that was isolated on a boat.

He said the ship had been disinfected and the source of the infection was still under investigation.
