51 compounds released, 28 people arrested for violating MCO recall

KUALA LUMPUR: Compounds were issued to 51 people while another 28 were arrested for violating the recovery movement control order (MCO).

Chief Minister (Security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said crimes committed on Friday included going to pubs and nightclubs, holding private parties and not wearing face masks.

“The compliance operations working group conducted 64,776 inspections on Friday.

“Several locations were searched, including 3,722 supermarkets, 5,053 restaurants, 3,770 banks and 1,079 government buildings,” it said in a statement on Saturday (Aug 29).

At Ops Benteng, Ismail Sabri said 64 roadblocks were held across the country on Friday.

“The police reviewed 30,120 vehicles to stop the entry of illegal immigrants to the country,” he added.

Meanwhile, on public sanitation operations, Ismail Sabri said that 9,771 operations have been carried out since March 30 covering 134 zones.

“A total of 12,902 stores were cleaned up, including 2,702 business centers, 1,595 housing estates and 5,682 government buildings,” he added.
