Taiwanese pop star Show Lo’s troubles are far from over.
After his ugly breakup with his influential girlfriend Grace Chow, 31, and reports of his infidelity hit headlines in Chinese entertainment in the past week, another charge has now been leveled at him.
In a Facebook post on April 23, the same day that Chow wrote an explosive Weibo post to announce the separation, Taiwanese celebrity manager Eddie Chen recalled an incident involving Lo many years ago.
He claimed that the 40-year-old singer blacklisted his artists after one of them, Taiwanese actress Ann Yeh, refused to go on a date with him.
The incident allegedly took place when Lo and Yeh, 37, filmed the 2001 Hong Kong film Expect a miracle. Chen claimed that Yeh, whom he handled, was questioned by Lo’s assistant after rejecting Lo’s offer.
Chen, who handles big names like Taiwanese actor Ethan Juan and Hong Kong actress Cecilia Cheung, wrote: “I was very unhappy and confronted Lo for approaching Yeh without informing me.”
When the media found out, Chen said that Lo, who is also a host, “publicly prohibited all my artists from participating in his shows.”
Chen also alleged that Lo told the media that he was upset with the manager for sharing photos of him and Yeh without his consent. But Chen claimed that He had given consent, only to change his tone after Yeh’s supposed rejection.
“Some people’s words become true only because they are famous,” Chen wrote.
He also alleged that while Lo claims that he and fellow Taiwanese singer Jay Chou are close friends, Lo once privately boasted that he was the best singer.
“I keep many secrets to the stars of the industry, but some of them only care about themselves and hurt those around them,” Chen wrote. – The Straits Times / Asia News Network
