Singapore confirms 675 new cases of Covid-19, total now 25,346

SINGAPORE (The Straits Times / ANN): The Ministry of Health (MOH) has preliminarily confirmed 675 new cases of Covid-19 in Singapore as of Wednesday noon (May 13), bringing the total count to 25,346.

These include two Singapore residents and permanent residents, while foreign workers living in dormitories make up the majority of the remaining cases.

More details will be released later Wednesday, the ministry added.

On Tuesday night, the Health Ministry said the number of Covid-19 patients discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities was 626. This is a new daily high.

The previous high was 504 on Monday. This contrasts with the double-digit download figures Singapore had before this month.

A total of 3,842 coronavirus patients have fully recovered since the first case was reported here on January 23.

The Health Ministry confirmed 884 new cases of Covid-19 in Singapore on Tuesday, and migrant workers living in dormitories once again make up the majority, 877, of the new cases. – The Straits Times / Asia News Network
