Raya’s special help for officials and pensioners – PSD DG

KUALA LUMPUR: The government agreed to give Aidilfitri special assistance of RM500 to public officials of Grade 56 and under.

The director general of the Department of Public Service, Datuk Mohd Khairul Adib Abd Rahman, said in a circular that the payment would be made on May 20 and that pensioners would also receive help from RM250.

According to the circular, special assistance for 2020 is for employees who are still on duty as of May 20 and eligible are staff with permanent, temporary, and contract appointments, as well as those on full, medium, and unpaid leave. For those linked to other agencies with separate compensation management, the aid will be paid by their respective agencies.

“Special assistance will be extended to interim teachers and drivers who are personally appointed by first grade B and higher, and special grade A and higher officers who are eligible for driver service but were not assigned by their departments.” said.

Mohd Khairul Adib said drivers personally appointed by members of the Administration, judges and judicial commissioners based on the Members of Parliament (Remuneration) Act of 1980 and the Judges Remuneration Act of 1971 would also receive the aid.

Meanwhile, Mohd Khairul Adib said part-time daily workers would also receive RM500 assistance, provided the contract period has been valid for at least 30 consecutive days.

Pensioners who have been reappointed by service contract and who are still working on May 20 will also enjoy RM500 assistance.

“The Department of Public Service will pay RM250, while the balance of RM250 will be paid by the department where the officer is currently serving,” he said. – Bernama
