PAS President Abdul Hadi Awang (left) and his PPBM counterpart Muhyiddin Yassin have decided to continue their collaboration in PN.

PETALING JAYA: PAS and PPBM have decided to continue strengthening their collaboration in Perikatan Nasional (PN) and to work together in the next general elections (GE15).

The decision was made after a meeting between party chairmen Abdul Hadi Awang and Muhyiddin Yassin yesterday.

The agreement now raises questions about PAS’s pact with Umno in Muafakat Nasional (MN), as Umno wanted PAS to choose between MN and PN.

In a statement today, PPBM Secretary General Hamzah Zainudin and his PAS counterpart Takiyuddin Hassan said both parties were also rejecting any new political pact involving Pakatan Harapan and its allies.

They said the parties are committed to strengthening the unity of the ummah and will work with any party that supports the concept.

However, they will reject any attempt to dismantle their existing unit and undermine the NP government.

Hamzah and Takiyuddin said that PAS and PPBM, as the founding parties of PN, have decided to establish a committee at the central level to formulate specific strategies and directions to confront GE15, including negotiations on the distribution of seats.

They said that all the decisions taken will be finalized in the meetings of the component parties of the PN.

They also asked Malaysian voters to support them in GE15.
